What is Clinical Sexology?
Clinical sexology covers all aspects of human sexuality including interests, behaviours and functions.
Clinical Sexology can therefore cover:
- Relationship issues
- Physical concerns relating to sex
- Confidence
- Life changes that affect your sex life
- Sexuality
Therapy is a really great place to start exploring any sexual concerns and make sense of whats happening to achieve empowerment. It is not unusual for me to refer to other professionals and services when this feels appropriate, and can include, GP’s, Urologists, couples counselling and groups.
How I can help you
In order to help you in the best possible way, I favour a holistic model with a biopsychosocial approach.
What this means is that we can make sense of your circumstances and understand where they come from and why, and how our minds, bodies and social circumstances can impact each other.
Our sessions can cover:
- Relationship issues
- Sexual trauma
- Compulsive sexual behaviours
- Aspects of the self that feel too intimate or fragile to share
Causes of sex and relationship problems can vary significantly, therefore in some situations, you may benefit from further specialist support, and I can aid with referral to other professionals.
